Hi, I'm trying to get the Homebrew channel on my new (used) Wii system. I have gone through this process once before without running into any trouble...
Since my Wii is updated to 4.3E, I'm using Letterbomb as exploit. Once I reach this screen (which I believe is the install-screen, right?), the Wii freezes:
The "Press 1 to continue" never shows up. Any ideas as to what might have gone wrong?
Things I have tried, but did not help:
- Formatting the Wii system
- Use a normal 2 GB SD card instead of an SDHC card
- Press every button on the Wii remote
- Wait for more than an hour without touching the wii remote

Oh, that explains everything, because me Wii is fully updated - Thankshave you tried a game exploit to run it? The newest 4.3 update blocked letterbomb.
No, I haven't tried with a game exploit since I don't have any games. Do you know if there is any way to run a game exploit without having a legit copy of the game?

If you can get the installer splash to show up it's not an exploit problem.
You could see if there is a log file on your SD card, it may tell something about why it freezes.
Make sure to wait long enough though. It takes quite a while for the message to show up.

How long did you wait? Normally it takes quite a while for the thing to appear.
More than an hour :/

Yeah, it's safe to say it froze if it took more than 5 minutes or so
Shouldn't the Homebrew Launcher normally start under IOS 58 or so? That one doesn't even seem to be in your list.

Yes IOS58 is for USB2 support but it's also a full IOS that does have other functions. HackMii Installer does utilize it and the HBC will run on it.

Sooo... does anyone got any idea how to make the installer utilize IOS58?I noticed that too, though I've been so out of touch with this stuff for so long I don't know how to remedy it (though I have an idea)Yes IOS58 is for USB2 support but it's also a full IOS that does have other functions. HackMii Installer does utilize it and the HBC will run on it.
Did your Wii freeze the same place as mine did? If not, then the problem i have now and the problem you had not the same..Well with the newest update I couldn't use Letterbomb on a particular wii and had to use lego indianna to hack it. I spent an hour trying with Letterbomb before I gave up! Yes we had the intial 4.3 but wasn't there a shop update aswell after it?

Yea, in that case it was the exploit that didn't work.I t didn't show letter bomb at all in the messages folder
The letterbomb exploit seems to have worked with me, but something went wrong with the HackMii installer :/
